How to use U-locks to protect your bicycle?

1. Choose the right U-lock
Use high-quality U-locks and avoid low-quality locks, which can be easily cut
Choose a U-lock of the right thickness and length as needed. Thicker U-locks are harder to cut or bend

2. Locking position and method
Try to fill the internal space of the U-lock as much as possible, which can reduce the possibility of lever attacks. Lock the frame and front wheels, which is the most basic protection. If conditions permit, you can also lock the rear wheels and frame to provide stronger protection. Avoid locking the U-lock on objects that can be easily moved or cut, such as trees, sign poles, or utility poles.

3. Locking objects
Lock the U-lock on fixed and solid objects, such as bicycle racks, parking piles, or concrete foundations. Avoid locking it on objects that can be easily moved, such as trash cans or flower beds.

4. Parking environment selection
Try to park in places with high traffic, and avoid remote or poor visibility areas.
Avoid parking in places that are easily damaged, such as sidewalks, disabled access, or emergency exits.

5. Other precautions
Do not place the U-lock on the ground, as thieves may attack the lock with tools. Check the status of the lock regularly to ensure that the lock is not damaged or vandalized.
